Quangong Machinery Co.,Ltd held a welding skills competition to promote learning and improve skills
In order to strengthen the core awareness of welding quality and build a team of high-quality skilled talents, Quangong Machinery Co.,Ltd and the Robot Training and Education Center of Fujian Special Inspection Institute successfully held the "Welding for Excellence, Casting the Future" welder skills competition on July 17. 18 front-line welders from component workshops and assembly workshops competed on the same stage, using competitions to promote learning and training, and fully demonstrated the superb skills and spirit of industrial workers in the new era.
The competition consists of two parts: theoretical written test and practical test. The theoretical score accounts for 20% and the practical score accounts for 80%, which comprehensively tests the comprehensive quality of welders. At 9:00 a.m., the theoretical test started on time in the training classroom of Phase I Zone B, covering professional knowledge such as welding technology, safety regulations, and equipment maintenance. The contestants answered the questions calmly, showing a solid theoretical foundation.
The practical examination was divided into two sessions. Teacher Chen Jianglan from the Special Inspection Institute served as the chief examiner. After the on-site drawing of lots and grouping, the contestants had to complete vertical welding within 45 minutes and flat fillet welding within 30 minutes. The invigilators followed the whole process, strictly checking from weld formation, operation specifications to safety details. After the test pieces were uniformly numbered, they were scored according to industry standards by Manager Huang Zhikun of the Production Department, Lin Zhichao, the leader of the process group, and the expert team of the Special Inspection Institute to ensure fairness and justice.
After fierce competition, Gao Wen from the assembly workshop won the championship with a comprehensive score of 84.8 points, and won a prize of 3,000 yuan and a championship medal; Lu Fuqiang and Lin Qitang won the second prize, Huang Fagan, Liang Zhen, and Luo Malei won the third prize; Chen Liangren, Chen Zhiwen, Wang Zhiping, Chen Danghui, and Guo Zhichun won the encouragement award. At the award ceremony, the company leaders and experts from the Special Inspection Institute presented prizes, medals, and certificates of honor to the winners, and emphasized that they will continue to improve the "skills and performance linkage" mechanism to promote the construction of a skilled talent team.
This competition is not only a skill contest, but also an important measure for QGM to deepen the integration of production and education and consolidate the foundation of quality. Through the "actual combat" assessment, the safety awareness and process level of employees have been significantly improved, and the welding defect rate is expected to be further reduced. Chairman Fu Binghuang said that in the future, the company will continue to link industry resources, reserve talents for professional skill level certification and provincial competitions, create high-quality projects with the spirit of craftsmanship, and promote the high-quality development of the company.
